Nissan GT-R50 By Italdesign
The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign recently debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed near Surrey, England. The GT-R50 was designed in to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of both the GT-R and Italdesign, an auto design and engineering company in Moncalieri, Italy. The special GT-R50 is a new take on the GT-R NISMO, featuring incredible performance and a sleek, European-inspired design. According to Nissan, the GT-R50 will have a 3.8-liter V6 engine that generates roughly 710 horsepower. The NISMO-tuned powertrain is complemented by a BILSTEIN DampTronic® I damping system and Brembo braking. It also has Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for added grip on the track. This marvel of modern engineering celebrates 50 years of the GT-R with a sharp exterior look that pairs gold and black colors to create a surprisingly luxurious style.
“It was an honor and a privilege to be the first driver to drive the GT-R50 up the hill at Goodwood,” said Lucas Ordóñez, a Nissan Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup driver. “It’s such a fantastic place to drive it. Once I got asked by Nissan to drive it, obviously I was excited. I had already shared a photo of the car on my Instagram account and said that I was dreaming of driving it – then Nissan called me and asked me.” In addition to the Goodwood Festival, the new racecar will appear next at the Spa 24-hour race in Belgium as well as the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunio at Laguna Seca in late August. With incredible power and intelligent engineering, the GT-R50 is bound to dominate the track.
