Longer All-Electric Range
The new Nissan LEAF is already looking pretty good with a longer all-electric range. Recently, the automaker unveiled a sportier model of the eco-friendly car. The ‘open-air version’ of the new Nissan LEAF could feature an open top.
New Nissan LEAF Appearance
While not quite a convertible, the ‘open-air version’ of the Nissan LEAF is a new take on the sportiness of electric vehicles. The model made its debut at the Tokyo forum on zero-emission society. At the moment, there aren’t any plans to put the open-topped Nissan LEAF into production. Instead, it appears that the concept is a celebration of 100,000 Nissan LEAF sales since 2010 in Japan. “The 100% electric car was displayed at a forum to celebrate the milestone of 100,000 sales of the Nissan LEAF in Japan since the model was first introduced in 2010,” Nissan said in a press release.
The open-air concept is the most recent of three concepts. In October 2017, Nissan showed off a Nismo version of the next-generation Nissan LEAF ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show. That concept featured a black interior with red accents. Two months later, in December 2017, the Japanese automaker unveiled an all-electric Nissan LEAF GT concept.
3 New Options
All three concepts indicate that Nissan may be looking at releasing sportier versions of the Nissan LEAF. While there don’t seem to be firm plans for putting any concepts into production, these fantasy versions are a good indication of what could be coming in the future.
