September Storm

Hurricane Irma hit the southeastern region of the US hard in September, but many people are still recovering. Partnering with Hilary Hutcheson, a premier fly-fishing guide, Nissan offered its help in the cleanup efforts that have been ongoing in the Florida Keys area.

Giving Back To The Community

Nissan is dedicated to giving back to the community, one reason we at Santa Cruz Nissan are proud to be associated with the brand. Offering a 2017 Nissan TITAN for the cleanup efforts after Hurricane Irma, Hutchinson and her team were able to haul debris that’s been littering the coast for months. According to Nissan, Hutchinson also participated in a local fly-fishing tournament to raise money for the efforts as well.

“When I saw my friends in the Keys lose 30 guide days in the wake of Hurricane Irma – as well as their boats and homes in some cases – I felt a burning concern that was perhaps fueled by my own experience in the harsh smoke of Montana’s devastating wildfires,” said Hutcheson. “But I only lost nine days of guiding, not 30. I wanted to help those who took a gale-force slugging in the Keys.”

Power On Any Terrain

The 2017 TITAN capabilities make this truck ideal for the rough terrain and hard work required for the cleanup. For example, the tall ride height gives plenty of ground clearance, while the wide stance provides stability. The 2017 TITAN can also tow over 9,000 pounds, which comes in handy when moving big objects. Nissan’s participation in the cleanup efforts is just one of many ways the brand sets itself apart.
